8th Grade Shadow Days

Experience High School at Daystar Academy

Eighth grade is a big year, and there’s no better way to discover if Daystar Academy is the right fit for your student than by stepping into a Daystar classroom. Shadow Days give 7th and 8th graders a first-hand experience of what it’s like to be a Falcon: learning alongside our high school students, meeting new friends, and exploring the unique rhythms of an IB, Christ-centered, and intentionally diverse school community.

How It Works

Who can attend?

Shadow Days are open to 7th and 8th grade students interested in Daystar High School.

When are they offered?

Shadow Days are available on select dates beginning in September and through May.

How do I register?

Complete the RSVP form. Once we receive your request, our team will confirm your student’s spot.

Students can request to shadow a current Daystar student they know personally, or we’ll match them with a host who shares similar interests. While we do our best to honor all requests, pairings depend on student schedules.

What to Expect
  • Arrival/Departure: Students should arrive by 7:50am at Daystar Academy and be picked up at 3:00pm.

  • Lunch: Please send a packed lunch.

  • Schedule: Shadow students will attend classes, join their host for lunch and community time, and experience the culture of Daystar firsthand.

Why Shadow at Daystar?
  • Academics: Step into IB-style learning where curiosity and inquiry drive the classroom.

  • Community: Experience what it means to be part of a deliberately diverse, Christ-centered school.

  • Belonging: See what makes Daystar not just a school, but a community where students are known, supported, and challenged to grow.
