Winter 2026 Newsletter

Daystar Academy

Dear Friends of Daystar Academy,

As we move into the heart of winter at Daystar Academy, I’m grateful for the chance to pause and reflect on the life of our school community, where we’ve been, what we’ve celebrated, and how God continues to shape us together. This season has been marked by meaningful moments of learning, worship, growth, and connection, and it’s a joy to share those stories with you.

In this issue, you’ll read about how the world truly is our classroom at Daystar, from learning excursions across Chicago to international and domestic XP travel that invites students to listen, reflect, and engage with the wider world. You’ll find highlights from our Christmas program at the Merle Reskin Theatre, where students across every grade level shared the story of Advent through music, movement, and storytelling. You’ll also read about a strong fall athletics season, alumni
reflections, and the many ways our students are learning to notice what needs mending and to step
toward it with courage and compassion.

Across classrooms, stages, fields, and neighborhoods, our mission remains the same: to form students who think deeply, love boldly, and live faithfully, grounded in Christ and prepared to engage a complex and beautiful world. Whether through inquiry-based learning, the arts, athletics, service, or shared worship, our students are being shaped not only for academic success, but for lives of
purpose and hope.

Thank you for being part of this community. Your trust, partnership, and generosity make this work possible, and we are deeply grateful to walk this journey with you as we continue learning and
growing together at Daystar.

Warmly,

Tosha Jackson, Head of Schools
